- Can I get CEUs for these courses and how many?
The McKenzie Institute makes application to those states known to require pre-approval for continuing education and will annually request approval equal to 12 contact hours. The CEU equation may vary or it is possible that you may reside in a state that does not accept any home study courses for CEU's. It is always wise to check with your state board or association regulating CEU requirements if that is a need for you. You can also check our online CEU directory for approvals received.
- How long does my username and password remain active?
Your login account will remain active for 3 months (or 90 days) effective immediately upon the date of your registration.
- Do I have to complete all 8 cases in one sitting?
No, in fact you could even take a break during one of the eight cases with our convenient "Pick Up" feature. As long as you login from the same computer, when you login to the course it will take you back to the exact place in the case where you left by clicking the "Pick Up" button from the Start Page. A case is not considered complete until a case evaluation has been submitted.
- Do I have to complete cases in a particular order?
No. Each of the eight cases can be completed in any order. Only the questions within each case must be done in the sequential order.
- How long does it take to complete each case?
Each case has approximately 20 questions and can take anywhere between 30-90 minutes depending on how much time you spend thinking and exploring. Keep in mind that you will learn as much or more from wrong answers as you will from the correct answers. Even if you get a question correct the first time, it is worth using your back button to explore the incorrect answers.
- How do I know that I am done?
Done with a case: When you finish each case and you reach the Case Wrap-Up Page, you will be asked to submit an online case evaluation form. Once that form has been submitted, we consider you to be done with that case. However, you are encouraged to revisit it as many times as you wish within your 90 day enrollment period.
Done with the course: When you finish all eight cases and we have record of all eight case evaluation forms received, your final required step is to complete the Course Assessment form that you will automatically be directed to online after your 8th case evaluation is submitted. However, you are encouraged to revisit any of the eight cases as many times as you wish within your 90 day enrollment period.
- Will I receive a certificate of completion for each case?
No, you receive one certificate only at the completion of the course, which is determined by the submission of 8 separate case evaluations and the final Course Assessment. Upon receipt of this final document, we will issue you a certificate of completion by mail. No certificates will be issued for partial completion.
- Why are there multiple questions with the same question number?
Some questions aren't considered "Done" or "Correct" until both the original question and a follow-up question have been answered correctly. Many instances have follow-up questions that say something like "Why do you believe that is the correct answer?" For tracking purposes, we are numbering that as one question.
- Why can't I print the assessment form as the case progresses?
You are welcome to, but since each printing of the assessment form uses 2-3 pieces of paper and each case is 15 to 20 questions long, it is not recommended. We suggest you print a blank assessment form at the start of a case and then if you wish, print a completed assessment form at the close of the case. Also, the forms at the very beginning and the end are specially designed for printing, while the forms displayed in the middle of the case are not.
- I can't get past a certain page. I get an error saying "page can not be found," what do I do?
First, hit the refresh or reload button on your browser a few times. If the error persists, it may indicate that you have lost your connection to the internet. If you have not, use the contact information listed below. Please be prepared to describe what case you are in and what question you are on.
- What do I do if I am having technical difficulty?
If you have completed the system check and something within the McKenzie Case Manager does not appear to be working for you, you can use the contact information below. Again, please describe in detail exactly the problem that is occurring. If a specific error message appears and you can cut and paste the message directly into an email to us, that would help to expedite troubleshooting the problem.
